Electronics Clapper

Here is the circuit of simple, interesting and inexpensive electronics clapper which produces clap sound, and can be used to control the devices which used clap sound to operate.

 Circuit description of electronics clapper

The clapper can be designed and fabricated using the phase-locked loop (PLL) tone decoder LM567. This circuit comprises tone generator, speaker driver and speaker.




For generating 4.5 kHz signals, voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) section inside LM567 is configured, and to drive an 8-ohm, 0.5-watt loudspeaker (LS1) a pnp transistor SK100 (T1) is used. There is precise region behind not using timer IC 555. When switch SW1 is pressed, the electronics clapper generates 4.5 kHz sound, and transferred to loudspeaker.
